The 1930s Riviera knit
Open-collared knitted polos were what men wore on the terraces of the Riviera between the wars: no buttons, a collar that lies open on its own, and cable stitches that catch the light. Ours is knitted in cream cotton with vertical cables, ribbed sleeves and a small embroidered monogram on the chest.
